 Last Chance for Vieux Télégraphe Pre-Arrival

The arrival of the 2008 Châteauneuf-du-Pape  “La Crau” from Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe is just around the corner, and the special pre-arrival pricing will end when the wine is released.
I tasted the 2008 with vigneron Daniel Brunier at the domaine earlier this month. Gloriously stony and structured with dark notes of réglisse and black olives, it struck me as being imminently swallowable. The wine is enjoyable to sip, asking you to spend time with it, and willing to reveal much character now. Daniel likened the 2008 to the 1999, and proceeded to dig out a bottle of the ’99 to see how it was developing. It was raring to go, showing the classic, unparalleled rustic elegance that a well-aged Vieux Télégraphe so often exudes.
